Maintenance Policy Consultation

We are looking to make changes to our maintenance policy and would like to know what your thoughts are.

If you click on the link you will see the policy- it is detailed document and covers who is responsible for repairs to your home and the timescales for these repairs.

The responsibilities for who does what remains the same, but we are wanting your thoughts on changes to some of the timescales our contractors to work towards. In the past for emergency repairs the policy said:

Contractors will be instructed to attend within 2 hours and complete within 6 hours of the repair being reported and shall carry out any repairs to make safe immediately on attendance. Any follow up work required will be allocated a routine / urgent job line depending on circumstances.

We would like your thoughts on changing this to:

Contractors will be instructed to attend within 4 hours and make safe. Any follow up work required will be allocated a routine / urgent job line depending on circumstances. This will include, but not be restricted to, incidences of fire and flood, no heating or hot water.

We would also like to add an additional category for the right to repair, Right to Repair items with a 24-hour completion time will be placed into this category.

Contractors shall be instructed to complete the required repair work within 24 hours.

These changes can be seen in the Section 5.2 of the draft policy.

Appendix 3 of the draft policy shows which headings individual repairs come under.
